Youth Ministries

We have a very exciting and active youth program at VBC...

Our youth ministry is meant to provide a comfortable, inviting, supervised setting for teens to socialize and have fun while at the same time to mature spiritually in their walk with Christ.  This is accomplished by providing students the opportunity to interact with other believers, study God's Word, learn to share the Gospel, and to serve those around them.

Skit Team

The VBC Skit Team, Vision to Victory, is a ministry focused on uplifting the name of Jesus. We lead worship through expressive sign language or dramas that point to our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ. Our theme is "An Audience of One" because our dramas are not meant to be a performance or show but are meant to be an offering of our praise to Him. The drama team consists of students in 7th grade through adult and we have Skit Practice every other Sunday afternoon.

We offer Sunday School at 10:00am for both middle school and high school students.   These students will then move to the main sanctuary for the morning worship service.

The Refuge

The Refuge is a safe place for students to hang out, have fun, learn, and experience God. Students age 12-18 years old or grade 6-12 are invited to join us on Wednesday nights as we hang out together and play games before going to our weekly worship service, The River.   The doors at The Refuge will open at 6:00pm with our worship service starting at 6:45pm.

The River

The River is a worship service designed for 6-12 grade students.  During the service, students participate in lively worship through songs and drama led by our praise band, Audience of One.  After a life-applicable message from our Youth Pastor, Shane Petty, students will break into small groups for discussion and interaction.  The River will meet every Wednesday night at 6:45pm in Meeting Room A.

During School Year

The Refuge during the school year is 6th - 12th grade students. These students are normally those who are ready for intermediate to advanced level Biblical Studies. The classes are structured as 6th-8th Grade Girls, 6th-8th Grade Boys, High School Girls, and High School Boys. The Refuge, like AWANA, observes the school calendar during the school year (i.e. if school does not meet that day, neither does AWANA or The Refuge).

During Summer

The Refuge will continue on during the summer, just as it did during the school year.
